Have you tried using the search bar to find specific files? They could have been moved somewhere.

Charity Writing Recovery
Oh no, Tia! Ok, take deep breaths. What I would do is to first look in the Recycle Bin. If they're not there then go to START, then at the bottom of the box that pops up (the search box or run box) type in the name or part of the name of one of the files you are looking for to see if they got moved accidentally. Make sure the search is searching all of your hard drive. If these methods don't work, download a file recovery program to see if you can find them. A really good one is called Pandora Recovery. It can be found at download.com and it is a free program and is only 3.12mb. You can find it here: http://download.cnet.com/%7Bvalue=http://www.download.com/pandora-recovery/3000-2094_4-10694796.html If this link doesn't work just go to Download.com and put "file recovery software" in the search field. If that doesn't work, there are other methods of data recovery, but it starts getting technical and you'll probably have to take your computer to a computer store or have someone come out and look at it. The sooner you recover those files, the better because they will be eventually written over in time. That is if they were deleted. If you are able to recover your files, buy a girlie flower power memory stick and save your files twice. Once on your computer and once on the memory stick and keep your memory stick away from your computer until you are ready to save again. That way if there is a flood or fire, hopefully you'll have the stick on you or away from the damaged computer. BTW, were these files Microsoft Word documents or something else? I hope you find them, Tia. I know you worked hard on them. Be sure and let us know what happens.

Ouchie ;.; I hope you can find it! That happened to me about 5 years ago writing a huge research paper. I went to print it out the next morning to hand it in and it was gone! I felt my whole stomach sink. Long story short I had most of it backed up but I still wasn't able to hand it in on time and took a hit on my grade ;.; Anyways I hope you find it *crosses fingers* ><;

Hey Sweety, I sent you an email about this -- you MIGHT need to hit up a place that does data recovery, or hit up a friend who knows how to do it -- I've seen this happen to friends before and it FDlkjsdf;lakdfjsadf SUUUUUUKKKKKSSSSS but sometimes the files CAN be recovered by someone who knows how!

Unfortunately if the hard drive was somehow corrupted it is possible they were lost, which GOD FORBID is what happened. Let me know if there is any way I can help you!!!!
